February 6--Fabric Selection by Zoe Enright.  Also bring quilting questions to be addressed in March.


March 6--Introduction to Quilting Basics, led by Jan Doench.  Vicki Otten offered to address binding.


April 3--Hand vs Machine Quilting, member discussion.


May 1--Flip and Fold fabric wreath, presented by Jan Doench.


June 5--Machine Maintenance by guest speaker.


July 3--Christmas in July, members share gift and other holiday ideas.


August 7--UFO and orphan block exchange.  Discussion of charity quilt projects by Brenda Kenyon.


September 11--Charley Harper and challenge quilt presentations; prep for quilt show; orphan block return.


October 2--English Paper Piecing presented by guest speaker (hoping for Michelle Hellman).  Fabric kits for funky houses quilt block will be available.  These blocks will be made into a quilt that could be raffled off as a fund raiser for an organization.  Cathy Charvat volunteered to organize this project.


November 6--Organize your stuff presented by Jan Doench.  Turn in funky house block.


December 4?--Christmas party.

RCQG  2016

 

February 8:  "Bring a Blooper"
Do you have a project that is stalled because you can't figure out the next step?  Maybe the design is just not right, or the color choices did not turn out as you planned?  Bring the project, and receive some advice or perspective from our talented members.  Don't be shy!

 

 


2016 Creative Calendar Challenge will be further planned.  Sue Dvorak volunteered to organize the details.

March 14:  Home Grown Home Sewn owner Diane Shultz will be come to discuss her shop.  Jan Doench will contact.

April 11: Gadget Night
Bring your favorite gadget and discuss why it works for you.  Have some of those "why did I ever buy this?" gadgets?  Bring that too for advice and perspective.
Color/number challenge
Participants will draw a color and a number from the hat.  Example, green and three.  Make a block or mini quilt that reflects these.  Will be presented in October.


May 9:  Paper piecing
Need speaker.


June 13:  Accuquilt demonstration by Cass Plott.

June 25:  Come sew with your quilt members and get to know who they are and how talented they are. Plan a fun day and maybe even make progress on some of your projects.  Be sure to bring your machine and all supplies.  Plenty of outlets available.
Bring a goodie to share and your lunch. Plan to stay all day.
Salvation Army home near North Bend and Winton.


July 18:  Christmas in July
Share projects you have made for Christmas gifts.  Help members get a head start on holiday projects.


August 8:  Beautiful babies

Make a baby or child quilt for donation.  Bring in a baby picture of yourself to stump members.

Sept 19:  Planning for Charley Harper show.

Oct 10:  Charley Harper prize winners. Presentation of Calendar Challenge Winners.  Demos of Pineapple Ruler, twister Ruler, and Paper piecing demo.

Nov 14:  Member trunk shows
Cass Plott and Helen Buchert will share examples of their work.
